Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 3 July 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Code In Plain (the “Service”), a web application that turns source code into plain-English explanations. The Service is operated by Sifarhub (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in Amravati, Maharashtra, India. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Code In Plain lets you load a public or authorised GitHub repository, browse its files, and generate AI-assisted explanations (a file “Overview” or a “Line-by-Line” gloss) of that code. Explanations are produced using third-party large language models. Browsing code is free; AI explanations are paid for using credits (see Section 5). The Service is delivered entirely online; there is no physical product and nothing is shipped.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and able to form a binding contract.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for all activity under your account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
- You may sign in with email and password or with a supported third-party provider (e.g. Google). One person or entity per account unless otherwise agreed.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not:
- Submit, or request explanations of, code or content that you do not own or are not authorised to access and process, including code that violates GitHub’s terms or any third party’s rights.
- Use the Service to develop, distribute, or facilitate malware, exploits intended to cause harm, or any unlawful activity.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, probe, or circumvent the Service, its rate limits, billing, or security controls.
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted.
- Use automated means to create accounts or consume credits in a manner that abuses promotional or free allowances.
We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or harms the Service or other users.
4. AI-Generated Content — Important Disclaimer
Explanations are generated by artificial-intelligence models and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading. They are provided for convenience and learning only and are not professional, legal, security, or engineering advice. You must independently verify any output before relying on it, and you remain solely responsible for decisions you make based on it. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Please also read our standalone Disclaimer.
5. Credits, Plans & Billing
- AI explanations consume credits. The credit cost of a request depends on the size of the file and the amount of processing required; the cost is shown to you after each explanation.
- New accounts may receive a one-time allotment of free credits. Free credits have no cash value and are non-refundable.
- Paid credits are sold via plans (e.g. Basic, Pro, Max) with a monthly or yearly billing period. Plan prices and credit amounts are shown on our Pricing page and may be charged in INR or USD depending on your region and payment method.
- Yearly plans are charged upfront for the full year and grant twelve times the plan's monthly credit allowance at the start of the yearly period, valid for that year.
- Credits are an internal allowance for using the Service. They are not money, not transferable, and carry no monetary value outside the Service.
- Unless stated otherwise, plan credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over. Purchasing a new plan or period resets your balance to that plan's allowance.
- Applicable taxes may be added at checkout. Payment is processed by our payment partners (see Section 8); we do not store your full card details.
6. Renewal, Cancellation & How Each Payment Method Works
- Card payments via Stripe (USD) are recurring subscriptions: they renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals, and you retain access and remaining credits for the rest of the period you have paid for.
- Payments via Razorpay (INR) are prepaid purchases for the chosen period and do not auto-renew — nothing is charged again unless you make a new purchase. To continue after your period ends, simply buy again.
- EU/UK consumers: by purchasing you expressly request immediate delivery of the digital service and acknowledge that, once delivery begins, you lose the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, except where that right cannot lawfully be waived.
Refunds, where applicable, are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
7. Intellectual Property & Your Content
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Sifarhub and protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms.
You retain all rights to the code and content you submit (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to process Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service — including transmitting it to our AI and infrastructure providers to generate explanations, and storing cached results as described in our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit Your Content for this purpose.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers, including AI model providers, authentication and database hosting, source-code retrieval (GitHub), payment processors (Stripe and Razorpay), and web hosting. Your use of the Service may also be subject to those providers’ terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability is outside our control.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and the third parties that process it, and our Cookie & Local Storage Policy lists everything stored in your browser. By using the Service, you consent to those practices.
10. Service Availability & Changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, and may change features, plans, or pricing, at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes. We are not liable for any unavailability, maintenance, or modification of the Service.
11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service or any AI output will be accurate, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sifarhub and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sifarhub and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if required by law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 4, 7, 11, 12, and 14) will survive.
14. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts at Amravati, Maharashtra, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
